About the Role

The Group Financial Accountant will play a key role in the monthly consolidation process, annual audit process and have an on-going role in supporting the wider finance teams in ensuring preparation and appropriate review of accounting standard updates, accounting for once-off transactions and working with legal, co sec, taxation, treasury, commercial finance and other cross functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assistance in preparation of annual financial statements of the Group under IFRS and delivery of the annual audit.
  • Production of the monthly/quarterly reporting deliverables for the Group and communication with key stakeholders.
  • Preparation of single entity subsidiary financial statements in line with FRS 101 & FRS 102.
  • Analysing the monthly accounts of subsidiaries and liaising with operations and finance teams to prepare the monthly management reporting pack
  • Leading the process of intercompany reconciliations on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Research, analysis and application of technical standards/guidance as queries/issues arise in particular with new standards including IFRS and the different strategies for growth
  • Working with the Group Finance team to optimise use of current and future technology, and
    assist with driving efficiencies and improvements in various projects through the ongoing finance transformation process
  • Implementation and monitoring of internal controls across the group
  • Facilitate & perform period close activities including Balance Sheet reconciliations review & approval.

    Requirements:

  • Newly / Recently Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA, Big 4 trained preferable
  • Relevant industry experience in a financial reporting role an advantage
  • Exposure to IFRS, FRS 101 and FRS 102
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications. Workday experience would be an advantage.
  • Experience in Consolidations and group accounting
  • An effective team player, who demonstrates strong attention to detail and ability to follow through to completion of tasks.
  • Self-driven, motivated, and highly organised individual
