Core Responsibilities

As a Trade Waste Driver, you will be responsible for:

  • Safe Operation: Operating a HGV Class 2 vehicle for commercial/industrial waste collections.
  • Route Efficiency: Executing and optimising planned collection routes within the Preston and Lancashire area.
  • Customer Focus: Delivering excellent service, ensuring sites are left tidy and bins are correctly positioned.
  • Compliance: Conducting daily vehicle checks (DVSA compliant) and maintaining accurate digital records via your work tablet.

Essential Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must have:

  • Valid UK  Category C driving licence.
  • Current and in-date Driver CPC Qualification.
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Proven HGV driving experience (waste sector experience is highly desirable).
  • Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.

Pay and Compensation

We offer a rewarding package that values your time and performance:

  • Basic Rate: £15.92 per hour
  • Overtime Rate: £19.90 per hour (Paid after 40 standard hours)
  • Performance Bonus: 8p per bin collected, plus a Daily Service Success Bonus of up to £18.
