About the Role

As Payroll Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of accurate and timely payroll across multiple UK entities.

Working closely with the UK Payroll Manager, HR teams and Finance, you will help ensure payroll data is maintained correctly, statutory requirements are met, and employees across the business are paid accurately each pay cycle.

This role suits someone who enjoys working with detail, solving queries and maintaining accurate records within a busy payroll environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Payroll Processing

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Ensure all payroll data is accurate and validated before payment
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records and payroll spreadsheets
  • Process new starters, leavers and contractual changes
  • Produce and issue P45 documentation

Compliance & Reporting

  • Update tax codes, student loan deductions and statutory changes received from HMRC
  • Support the submission of PAYE, National Insurance, pension and statutory returns
  • Reconcile payroll reports and provide data to the finance team to support payroll funding
  • Ensure payroll processes remain compliant with HMRC legislation and payroll regulations

Pensions & Statutory Payments

  • Support the administration of auto-enrolment and company pension schemes
  • Prepare pension reports and assist with submission of pension payments
  • Calculate and process statutory payments including:
    • SSP (Statutory Sick Pay)
    • SMP (Statutory Maternity Pay)
    • SPP (Statutory Paternity Pay)

Employee Support

  • Respond to payroll queries relating to pay, tax, deductions and pensions
  • Work closely with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate payroll information is maintained
  • Assist with payroll variations such as salary changes and wage increases

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a structured payroll environment and takes pride in accuracy.

You will likely have:

  • Previous experience working in a payroll administration or payroll processing role
  • Good understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight payroll deadlines
  • Experience using Sage 50 Payroll or similar payroll systems (desirable)
  • Experience working with time and attendance systems (desirable)
  • Strong Excel and data handling skills
  • Good communication skills with the ability to resolve payroll queries professionally
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
