Workday Finance Expert

About the Role

We are looking for a Workday Finance Expert to support and enhance our Workday Financial Management platform.

Working across IT, Finance and Procurement, you will ensure Workday Financials operates accurately and efficiently while continuing to meet the needs of the business. You will provide day-to-day functional and technical support, resolve system issues and help optimise processes, integrations and reporting.

This role would suit a qualified accountant who combines strong finance knowledge with hands-on Workday Financials experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Workday Finance Expert, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day support across Workday Financials, including:
    • Financial Accounting
    • Supplier Accounts and Accounts Payable
    • Customer Accounts and Accounts Receivable
    • Expenses
    • Procurement
    • Projects
  • Investigate and resolve system issues, working with internal teams and Workday Support where required
  • Manage configuration changes and support the testing and deployment of Workday updates and new functionality
  • Create and support data loads using Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), ensuring data remains accurate and complete
  • Develop and maintain custom reports and dashboards using Workday Report Writer and Composite Reporting
  • Work with Finance, Procurement and IT teams to translate business requirements into effective system solutions
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve the user experience
  • Support financial audits and compliance reviews by providing system data and documentation
  • Train and support finance users on Workday functionality and best practice
  • Monitor Workday Community for relevant product updates, new features and recommended practices
  • Create and maintain process, procedure and configuration documentation

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • A recognised professional accountancy qualification
  • Proven experience working with Workday Financials in a functional or technical capacity
  • In-depth knowledge of finance processes, accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience supporting financial systems or delivering financial systems projects
  • Practical experience using Workday EIB and financial reporting tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable Experience

It would be beneficial if you also have:

  • Workday certification in Financials or a related module
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning or Workday Studio
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance and financial audit requirements
  • Familiarity with Workday HCM and Payroll modules
