Civic Amenity Site Supervisor

Location: Monaghan
Working pattern: Flexibility to work Saturdays when required

We’re looking for a Civic Amenity Site Supervisor to run the day-to-day operation of our Monaghan waste transfer and recycling site. You’ll lead the site team, keep work safe and compliant, and make sure plant, vehicles and people are used effectively.

What you’ll be doing

• Supervise activity across the recycling building, plastic recycling plant and open yard.
• Lead site employees and subcontractors, ensuring they are trained, equipped and following safe working procedures.
• Plan work and allocate resources to maintain productivity, minimise downtime and meet site targets.
• Oversee waste segregation and material recovery to produce high-quality recyclable loads and minimise disposal costs.
• Check that outgoing waste meets the receiving facility’s specification and that transfer vehicle payloads are used efficiently.
• Coordinate plant and vehicle maintenance with operators, drivers and maintenance colleagues, including vehicle tax and roadworthiness requirements.
• Oversee the delivery and collection of domestic and commercial wheelie bins in line with Panda’s bin tagging system.
• Keep the site clean and orderly, and ensure environmental licence requirements are followed and required records are maintained.
• Manage attendance, holiday cover, performance and development within the team.
• Work with traffic, sales and other colleagues to resolve operational issues and improve the quality of material received.
• Monitor and report on safety, costs, stock, downtime, maintenance and housekeeping.

What you’ll bring

• At least two years’ supervisory experience in a busy waste, transport or logistics operation.
• Knowledge of commercial, domestic and recyclable waste streams.
• The ability to lead a team, make sound decisions and resolve day-to-day issues professionally.
• A practical approach to safety, environmental compliance and equipment care.
• Good communication, organisation and attention to detail.
• Confidence using Word and Excel.
