Role Overview

The Fleet Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Panda’s fleet operations remain fully compliant with all Irish regulatory, legal, safety, and environmental standards. This is a key leadership role within the fleet and operations team, requiring strong technical knowledge, regulatory expertise, and a proactive approach to risk management.

Based primarily at Panda’s Dublin office, the role will involve frequent travel across Ireland to operational depots, workshops, and regional fleet sites.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Legal Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with all Irish transport and road safety legislation, including RSA, HSA, waste transport regulations, tachograph requirements, and vehicle maintenance standards.
  • Oversee adherence to vehicle licensing, permits, insurance, and regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes to legislation, communicating impacts across the business.

Fleet Oversight & Governance

  • Manage and develop a robust fleet compliance framework covering maintenance, inspections, servicing schedules, and audit controls.
  • Lead internal and external audits across all fleet locations.
  • Review and analyse fleet data to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure all fleet documentation, digital records, and compliance systems are accurate and audit-ready.

Safety & Operational Standards

  • Champion best-in-class Health & Safety practices across all fleet operations.
  • Support the rollout of safety initiatives, training programmes, and compliance campaigns.
  • Ensure vehicle roadworthiness procedures are strictly followed at all times.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Fleet Managers, Depot Managers, Mechanics, Operations Managers, and Compliance Teams.
  • Provide guidance and training to operational staff on fleet compliance requirements.
  • Act as the key point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to modernise compliance processes, digital tools, and reporting capabilities.
  • Support introduction of new fleet technologies (telematics, DVIR systems, predictive maintenance tools).
  • Drive initiatives to reduce risk, improve safety outcomes, and optimise fleet performance.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in fleet compliance, transport compliance, logistics management, or a related operational field.
  • Strong understanding of Irish transport legislation, tachographs, driver hours rules, fleet maintenance standards, and vehicle safety regulations.
  • Experience managing large fleets (preferably 200+ vehicles).
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to travel across Ireland as required.
  • Full clean driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience in waste management, utilities, transport, or heavy industry.
  • Knowledge of RSA systems, telematics platforms, fleet management systems, or compliance software.
  • Qualifications in Transport Management, Fleet Management, Compliance, or related discipline.
  • Experience with continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, ISO standards).
